New Data Released on the Number of North Carolinians in Need of Mental Health Services

On April 1, 2011, new data was released by the state on the number of persons in need of mental health services. There are 1.37 million North Carolinians in need of services, or 14.4 percent of the state population. Of those, 596,624 need mental health services; 120,302 need services for developmental disabilities; and 657,513 need substance abuse services. Across disabilities, there are 312,634 children in need of services. Here is a link to the report.
